Contemplative Prayer Workshop

Do you long for greater spiritual depth? How can you live a contemplative life in the midst of a busy modern routine?

Centering prayer is an ancient Christian contemplative and meditative practice that helps you consent to the Holy Spirit’s presence and action within. This prayer method enriches and compliments your personal and communal prayers and heightens your awareness of God in your daily life. Anyone desiring to deepen their prayer life, or who is curious about Christian Contemplative Prayer will find this workshop helpful.

The workshop consists of four talks: Prayer as Relationship; The Method of Centering Prayer; Thoughts and the Use of the Sacred Word; Deepending Our Relationship with God. There will also be a 20-minute prayer segment.

Our facilitator: Pax Christi parishioner, Lee Terpay, has been sharing Christian Contemplative practices for Fr. Thomas Keating’s Contemplative Outreach since 2005. Lee’s ministry includes offering Lectio Divina, Centering Prayer Workshops and Intensive Retreats. Her ministry is rooted in her service to the Centering Prayer communities at Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs, Holy Cross Monastery in West Park, NY, and The Center for Lifelong Learning at Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA.
